Upscaling photos for print

Enlarging a photo for print is more than making it bigger — it has to hold detail at the physical size and DPI your printer needs.

Why enlarged photos look blurry in print

A photo sized for a screen has far fewer pixels than a large print needs. Stretched in the RIP it softens, and the bigger the print, the worse it gets.

How Krixel does it

Krixel upscales the photo with AI (Real-ESRGAN), cleans compression noise, then sets the exact physical size and DPI and exports a print-ready CMYK PDF with bleed — all offline.

Good for

  • Photos for banners, posters and billboards
  • Exact size in cm + target DPI
  • CMYK PDF with 3 mm bleed
  • Fully offline — no cloud upload
